Mobile Money Ventures (MMV) was formed in March 2008, a joint venture of Citi and SK Telecom. By combining the strengths of Citi, today's preeminent financial services company, and SK Telecom, the leader and pioneer in mobile financial services technology, MMV has created the next-generation mobile financial service solution that will accelerate the adoption of mobile financial services worldwide.

Richard Chin

Executive VP, SK Telecom and President, SK Telecom Americas

Richard Chin is the Executive Vice President of SK Telecom and has served as President of SK Telecom Americas (SKTA) since January 2008. He oversees all SKTA businesses and leads development in new business opportunities. His business background consists of several Senior Executive positions at Motorola, including Corporate Vice President of Global Product Marketing and Business Ventures & Development. Richard Chin had previously held senior positions at Searle Pharmaceuticals, NutraSweet Company, Kraft Foods, and Accenture. He holds a J.D. from John Marshall Law School and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Chicago.

 

Deborah Hopkins

Chairman of Venture Capital Initiatives, Chief Innovation Officer, Citi

In her role as Venture Capital Initiatives Chairman, she oversees the development and enhancement of Citi's relationships with the global venture capital community. As Chief Innovation Officer, Ms. Hopkins is responsible for developing and leading Citi's approach to creative, forward-looking collaboration with key constituencies. Before coming to Citi, Ms. Hopkins held senior-level positions at several global companies, including Chief Financial Officer for The Boeing Company and for Lucent Technologies. Prior to that, Ms. Hopkins was Vice President of Finance for General Motors Europe. In 2000, Fortune magazine named her the second most powerful woman in American business.

 

Chris Kay

Managing Director - Head of Growth Ventures & Innovation, Citi

As Citi’s global corporate ventures unit, Chris and his colleagues work with Citi business leaders and external partners to identify emerging market growth spaces, develop new venture concepts in these spaces, and launch new corporate ventures in pilot geographies globally. The new ventures span existing business units within Citi and also shape new-to-market and new-to-Citi lines of business. The new ventures always start with an explicit focus on driving success for clients and customers, transforming industry dynamics, and generating significant new value for Citi. The ventures take at least one of three forms: 1) Incubated within Citi, leveraging existing internal capabilities and those of external partner companies, 2) Strategic investments in and partnerships with start-up companies, 3) Forming and spinning out newcos or JVs. Chris is a board member for Mobile Money Ventures and Bundle, and has a rich network of relationships in the venture community. In June 2007, Chris was a senior executive at Target, leading several of its most successful growth strategies, initiatives and transformational efforts. Chris started his professional career as a corporate lawyer representing Fortune 100 companies across a variety of areas with a specialty in debt- and equity-based real estate transactions. Chris has a JD Magna cum Laude from University of Minnesota and a BA in French and Economics from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Chris, his wife and five children live in Palo Alto.

 

Min H. Park

Senior Vice-President of Business Development, SK Telecom Americas

Min Park serves as Senior Vice-President of Business Development for SK Telecom Americas(SKTA). Prior to joining SK Telecom Americas, Mr. Park was at Motorola where he held various positions in Business Development, Global Product Marketing, Strategy, Operations and Product Marketing. Min Park has more than 15 years of experience in Management Consulting and Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) industries.

 

Gary Schofield

President and CEO

With over 20 years of experience in the mobile and internet industries, Gary has built a reputation for creating and leading results-driven companies. He has opened new markets on seven continents for leading software companies, consistently grown market share, and significantly enhanced customer value. A successful entrepreneur and Fortune 250 executive, Gary brings a blend of early stage skills and public company knowledge to Mobile Money Ventures. Prior to joining Mobile Money Ventures, Gary was President and co-CEO of Amobee Media Systems where he was responsible for all aspects of the company. Amobee is a leader in the mobile advertising industry and backed by such prestigious venture firms as Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners. Prior to Amobee, Gary was President of Digital Chocolate where he led all facets of the company’s global business, while achieving multiple years of record growth. Digital Chocolate is the leader in original branded content for the mobile and internet platforms and backed by legendary venture firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sequoia Capital. Gary was also a founding team member at SEVEN Networks, where he was responsible for Global Field Operations. Before SEVEN, Gary led the global applications organization for Phone.com (now Openwave). He joined Phone.com through the $850M acquisition of Onebox.com, where he was the Vice President of Sales. Gary has also held senior positions at Oracle Corporation and IBM.
